Tajweed or Tajwid is the art of reading the Quran smoothly, beautifully and with rhythm. Applying the rules of recitation and correctly pronouncing the Arabic words. A minority of Muslims live in Canada. Therefore, it’s hard to find an official institute or academy that will teach Tajweed. The angels will be in the company of those who recite the Quran beautifully. Hazrat Ayesha narrated the words of Prophet Muhammad PBUH:
Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.
Sahih/Authentic. – [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
A man who recites a single letter of the Quran will be rewarded with 10 good deeds.
Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.
Hasan Sahīh. – [Tirmidhī and Dārimī]

Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise; whoever puts it behind him, it will steer him to the Hellfire.

History of Tajweed
In the era of Prophet Muhammad, Arabs talk to each other using the Tajweed rule. There’s no need for them to learn Tajweed as it comes naturally when they speak. Gradually, as Islam spreads, many non-native Arabic speakers recite the Quran differently. This caused a lot of problems at that time. Then, scholars started to write the rules of Tajweed. Imām Abu ʻUbaid al-Qāsim bin Salāmwas the first scholar who wrote the rules of Tajweed in his Book Kitāb al-Qirā’āt in the third century of Hijra.
Tips to Learn Tajwid
There are some tips we are going to share with you. By applying these tips, you can learn Tajweed faster.
The foremost step is to learn under a qualified instructor like our tutors are well trained and highly qualified. He knows better the pronunciation and interpretation of the words. You’ll have to focus on the given work.
It’s suggested you to use diagrams. The diagrams show the word should originate from which part of the mouth.

We provide the best online Tajweed courses. Its level moves from beginner to advanced Tajweed course. There’s no limit of time to complete the course. According to our estimation, a 10-year-old completes the course in 6 to 8 months. Adults take less time in comparison with kids about 5 to 6 months.
Age Limit / Pre-Requirements
There’s no age limit. Even the kids with 5 or 6 years of age enrol in kids’ Tajweed course. No such requirements are needed. Students have a pen or notebook to write down the important points. As Tajweed courses in Canada are online. Participants must have a fast, reliable internet connection.
Method of Teaching
The Tajweed classes start with the pronunciation of Arabic letters. When the students have griped the pronunciation, they’ll move to the differentiation of words. Like one word can sound distinctly and its meaning changes by a small alteration. The recognition of Harakat and its characteristics will be taught. The teacher will revise the previous work periodically.
